An oldest serving Member of Parliament from Kisii County has been condemned for allegedly pushing for MPs' salary hike.
Locals of Kitutu Chache North in Kisii County claimed that the ageing area MP Jimmy Angwenyi should be ashamed for pushing salary hike.
"We are in shock after Mr. Angwenyi demanded for a salary hike. He is such a disgrace to us. We elected him to champion for development but, not pushing for increased salaries and huge allowances," said a local Daniel Mogendi.
Peter Nyakwama regretted voting for the lawmaker who has turned against poor electorates.
"I wasted my vote during the last year's polls electing 'greedy' Angwenyi. Come 2022, I will not repeat the same mistake," he noted.
Isaac Onchoke warned residents against re-electing Angwenyi in 2022 saying he has grown old until he sees nothing good to do with development.
"Angwenyi should be prepared to leave office in 2022. Let him embezzle enough money now because he won't be luck in 2022," said Onchoke.
He urged residents to shun politics based on clan saying development won't be realized in the region.
