Deputy President William Ruto believes the presence of former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto will not only help government in formulation of devolved government policies but also strengthen his grip in Rift Valley.
The two leaders met on Sunday in Bomet and pledged to work together after several years of fallout.
An aide to DP who spoke in confidence, said the DP is optimistic that Isaac Ruto will make it to come in the next reshuffle.
"There has been a misunderstanding between national and county governments thus Isaac Ruto's experience in both can help stabilise the government.
"Also, the DP believes a strong Isaac in cabinet will neutralise rebellion against him in Rift Valley. That's why he's very keen to have him appointed," he noted.
A well coordinated rebellion has rocked Rift Valley with MPs Joshua Kutuny, Silas Tiren and Alfred Keter taking charge, a move that has left the DP fighting back.
At the Bomet rally, the DP hinted that Ruto will take charge of the populous Rift Valley while he will reach out to other regions.
"Isaac will be charge here. I will move out and reach other people. I am even asking him now to reach to the rebels," he said.
