The newfound love between African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Amolo Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta continues to cause jitters in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp. On Saturday, Ruto, who is considered one of the front-runners in the race for Presidency toured Mandera.
During the visit, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale took a swipe at Raila.
Speaking during a fundraiser in Mandera in the presence of the second on command, Duale said that Raila is a political broke and party wrecker.
He noted that the Luo political kingpin is known for causing woes in different political parties and this is not going to be any different in Jubilee. He also urged President Kenyatta and his team to beware of Raila’s plan.
“They destroyed Kanu leading to President Kenyatta’s defeat in 2002 and then Narc followed before they formed Cord that collapsed due to their political dishonesty,” he said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
Raila and Duale have been firing salvos at each since the historic handshake occurred. The two have always been on different sides on matters of national interest.
The fight against graft has widened the rift existent between the two leaders. Ruto’s side feels being targeted in the war to end this vice in Kenya.
