Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i argued that development is likely to be derailed in the larger Gusii region if leaders will not concentrate in serving the electorates.

Tong'i said 2022 is far for politicians to start seeking support from the electorates.

"The electorates deserves better roads, hospital, proper education for children and empowerment but it is worrying that some leaders are out to campaign yet 2022 is too far. Early campaigns are likely to delay development across the Gusii region," he said.

The lawmaker said he will not be part of those leaders engaging in divisive politics saying he is not ready to be questioned by electorates in 2022.

"I am committed to deliver the promises I made to my people to avoid unnecessary questions in 2022 from my constituents. Elected leaders from Gusii should put all their energies in serving the people and stop prioritizing their interests," he stated.

He maintained that the referendum being pushed by NASA Raila Odinga is a good idea but, creation of Prime Minister post should not be allowed.
