A Nairobi court will today deliver judgment on the Garissa University terror attack that left 147 students dead in April 2015.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi will make the ruling where four suspects have been found to have a case to answer.
In March, the court ruled that the prosecution had proved a that four suspects namely; Mohamed Ali Abdikadir, Sahall Diriye, Hassan Aden Hassan and Rashid Charles Mbereseo, had a case to answer.
The court ruled that the Director of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) evidence tabled in court linked the suspects to the terror attack.
Andayi, however, acquitted Osman Abdi Dagane, who worked as a guard at Garissa University when terrorists stormed the institution.
The Magistrate ruled that the evidence against Dagane was weak and did not link him to the attack.
The suspects were charged with 156 counts of terrorism with the prosecution lining up 23 witnesses in the case.
While making final submissions in the case, the DPP recommended death sentence for the suspects.
“There is no doubt a terrorist act was committed on April 2, 2015, at Garissa University College by the accused persons and others not before this court," Senior Prosecution Counsel Duncan Ondimu told court.
