If a planned hatched by Governor John Nyagarama and five local MPs goes through, County Speaker Moffat Teya would lose his seat soonest.
A source privy to a meeting held over the weekend intimated that Nyagarama rallied MPs to back a move to impeach the third speaker.
"The speaker is already aware of the moves and he will not sit pretty and wait for the move.
"The MPs backed Nyagarama's plot and MCAs have been tasked to execute it. It won't be easy though," the source said, adding that strained relationship between executive and assembly occasioned the meeting.
Those present were Ben Momanyi, Joash Nyamoko, Vincent Kemosi.
Others who did not attend and their stand remains unknown are Jerusha Momanyi and Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose.
Workers in Nyamira county have gone three months without pay and Nyagarama has squarely blamed Teya, who he accuses of inflating assembly budget thus the standoff.
Last week, assembly ousted Deputy Speaker Duke Omoti over abuse of office leading to protests from Orange House.
Six MCAs have since been sanctioned by ODM to respond why disciplinary actions should not be taken against them.
"They defied the party's position and if found guilty, we shall squarely handle the matter," party lawyer Tony Moturi said.
Also in attendance during the weekend night meetings is Majority Leader Duke Masira, a close ally of Nyagarama.
