A meeting on Saturday between NASA leader Raila Odinga with flamboyant Gusii businessman Don Bosco Ooga Gichana has brought about mixed reactions among Gusii local politicians.
A NASA allied politician Thomas Nyangaresi dismissed the meeting saying Gichana is seeking endorsement from the former Prime Minister ahead of the 2022 politics.
"Raila won't make him win any political seat in 2022. Let him consider being close to the people who will have the final say in the ballot," he noted.
A Jubilee youth leader Isaac Motari wondered why Gichana is loitering around meeting high profile leaders instead of resting after spending 5 years behind bars.
"If I were Gichana I could have taken a political break. The years he spent in prison are many. Let him rest," said Motari.
He added that Gichana will find it hard penetrating into the politics in 2022 because his opponents will use the criminal charges he faced in Tanzania to bring him down.
Okioma Omwancha, a Nyamira politician urged Gichana to stop wasting time meeting Raila who is supposed to retire.
"Gichana should associate himself with people who will win polls in 2022 and not Raila," said Omwancha.
