Following yesterday's unprecedented action where street children threatened the demonstrating nurses and disrupted them, an activist/chairperson of Muungano Gender Forum Joel Machuka, has condemned those who paid the kids to stop the demos.
While addressing journalists on Monday in Kisii town, Machuka condemned the county officers who gave the street children a small amount of money to disrupt the legal demonstration staged by the nurses.
Machuka also said that the street children are not the people to buy in order to disrupt a peaceful demonstration. They are live bombs which can explode on those officials.

"There are those county people who gave street children a small amount of money to disrupt the nurses’ demonstration. I would like to tell you that those are not the right people to buy in order to disrupt a legal action. That is a wrong move! Those children have their problems and need to be helped rather than using them to disrupt a demonstration. Those who planned the whole ordeal should be bright to book,” Machuka said.
The street kids carried clubs and feaces that they threatened to smear the demonstrating nurses with.
Other nurses ran for their lives while others proceeded to Kisii Police station to seek security, which they were denied under grounds of inadequate police officers in the station.
