St. Joseph was ahead in the 23rd minute. Hamisi Fadhil netted the goal after Shabana's defence failed to clear the ball inside their box.

In the 2nd half, the home team was awarded a penalty after Bob Mugalia was tripped in the box, Kevin Taabu seeing red. Wycliffe Nyangechi perfectly converted the penalty bringing the scores to parity.

The controversially awarded penalty sparked chaos in the stadium and confrontations from St. Joseph's head coach Nicholas Mbogo, his technical team and his players towards the centre referee.

As a result, the match was stopped for around 25 minutes, St. Joseph's head coach and his technical team invading the pitch to reproach the referee.

But later the game resumed despite all the jibes, insults and ridicules from St. Joseph's head coach and technical team towards the match referee.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Shabana is now 10th in the NSL standings with 29 points while St. Joseph's is 12th in the log with 23 points.

Next Shabana faces Nairobi City Stars away whereas St. Joseph will be at home against Eldoret Youth FC.
