George Omwera Aladwa is Makadara MP elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party ticket.
He is one of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s trusted political foot soldiers in the city.
The MP has a huge support base in Nairobi’s Eastlands area.

Aladwa was born, raised and schooled in Nairobi’s Makongeni estate.
The vocal MP also schooled in Makongeni.
He joined politics in 2007 and unsuccessfully contested for the Nairobi mayor seat.
In 2011 he was elected Nairobi Mayor on ODM ticket in acting capacity following the stepping down of Geoffrey Majiwa over graft.
In 2013, Aladwa unsuccessfully contested for the Makadara parliamentary seat losing to Benson Mutura of Jubilee Party.
In 2017, the former Mayor won the Makadara seat on an ODM ticket.
Aladwa is Nairobi County’s ODM chairman and party coordinator.
He is also a successful businessman with interests in real estate and public transport.
Aladwa is married and has children.
The MP is also a staunch Christian.
The ODM MP has however in many instances found himself in trouble with the law over offensive utterances.
He is among city politicians to watch ahead of the 2022 succession politics.
