An MP allied to ODM party from Gusii has said she is unhappy with the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i over the increased number of drug peddlers in the region.
Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong'era said it is shameful for the powerful CS to be unable to eliminate drug barons from his own home turf.
"I'm not happy with Matiang'i because he has done nothing to flush out drug traffickers who are selling drugs to our youths. Matiang'i should move with speed to ensure drug cartels are flushed out from the region," Ong'era said.
She addressed the press in Kisii town on Friday.
The county MP threatened to expose the drug barons if Matiang'i fails to intervene soonest.
"I know individuals selling illicit drugs to our youths. I'm ready to name them in parliament if they won't be arrested," she said.
According to her, illegal drug sellers are walking free yet they belong to jail.
"Police have spared drug barons to continue selling the drugs to our youths. Young people's lives are being ruined by the drugs which have rendered them useless deep in the villages," Ong'era said.
