Right from the magical Lake Okari in Kitutu Chache to Suneka, the home of soapstones, one is faced with hundreds of options on where to visit.

Just about 7km from the Central Business District, along the Kisii-Nyamira highway lies the Manga escarpment, a belt of rocks that stretches to almost 30km. The escarpment is home to the region's largest rocks that divide Kisii and Nyamira counties.

At its very beginning lies the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel and the Saint Joseph's Prayer House.

Next to these two religious institutions lies Manga Orotuba Secondary School. On the most beautiful viewpoint uphill is a gigantic cross erected on a rock, that will make you feel in heaven if you are religious for that sake.

About 1km on is the famous Engoro ya Mwaga , a pit believed to be housing supernatural powers and that is in direct 'connection' to Lake Victoria. This point serves as a shrine where some locals bring firewood and throw them to the endless pit.

It is believed none of those who have ever dared to go in has ever emerged out of the hole.

These rocks stretch through the Manga market to Enamba and Isecha. The locals here are ever hospitable. Nobody is charged for visiting this beautiful site.

If you have never been to this place and you are planning to visit Kisii, include Manga as must visit the site.
