Jumwa who has since decamped from the opposition to Deputy President William Ruto's camp has been questioning Atwoli's attacks on the DP.

Speaking when he presided over the Labour Day celebrations in Uhuru Park Wednesday, the trade unionist told off the vocal lawmaker, saying that he will not engage her in an exchange.

"Mama Mishi Mboko (Likoni MP) mwambie huyo awachane na mimi, yeye siyo type yangu. Achana na huyo mama. Apimwe na ruler, hana kiuno, hana. Anacheza sana na Jina yangu.

(Mboko, please tell her to leave me alone, she is not my type, let her stop mentioning my name, she doesn't even have a waist)," he said amid laughter from the guests.

This was in reference to Jumwa's waist narrative which she has been using in political platforms, saying that her waist is for Ruto's camp.

The exchange began after Atwoli rubbished Ruto's 2022 presidential candidature while speaking in Lamu county last month.

He claimed that the DP's name will not be in the presidential ballot in the first place, notibgbthat he will be swept off by a looming referendum to be held by the end of next year.

At one point, Jumwa described him as 'Kijana fupi round' (a round short man), accusing him of playing politics with his office and challenging him to go for the presidency himself.

Present leaders at the celebrations included Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani, former Vice Presidents Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi, area governor Mike Sonko, a host of lawmakers and other invited guests.

However, the government failed to give any pay increase to its workers.
