A second international stadium will be unveiled in Nyanza by President Uhuru Kenyatta by June 2019, Governor John Nyagarama has confirmed.
To expedite it's construction, Governor Nyagarama said his administration will re-allocate Sh26 million meant for Nyamaiya stadium to Manga modern stadia.
"We are working around the clock to ensure Manga stadium is complete by June next year. Hopefully we shall then invite the president to commission it.
"The government will divert Sh26 million for Nyamaiya to Manga for quick completion. We need it urgently," he said on Thursday.
A fortnight ago, Uhuru commissioned Gusii stadium that has a capacity of over 30, 000 people.
Sports CeC Bernard Osumo, who has been under fire from locals over delayed completion of the pitch, said he's working around the clock to fix the matter.
"I don't want to say alot but as the governor said, expect the president to visit soon."
