Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has sharply differed with a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto over the ongoing graft war.
Maangi while speaking on Friday during an interview at a local TV said corruption should be fought by everyone irrespective of tribe.
"Graft is a major issue affecting devolution in our country. Those claiming that graft war is targeting a particular tribe are those who have already stolen and now they are in fear they will be arrested," he said.
The vocal politician appealed to politicians allied to DP Ruto to stop politicking about graft.
"I wish to urge politicians allied to DP Ruto to stop politicizing graft war because it will taint the name of DP Ruto indirectly. They should keep quiet for investigative authorities to probe the matter and bring suspects to book," he stated.
He reiterated that corruption will come to an end if leaders will join hands to fight the vice.
"Public funds must be utilized well for the purpose of completion of development projects. Anyone defending corruption belongs to jail," said the Kisii County 2022 governor hopeful.
