Over the weekend, Ruto came out guns blazing, accusing Raila Odinga of hiding in handshake with Uhuru to frustrate him.

"I know your tricks. You kicked me out of ODM but this time, forget doing it in Jubilee," fired Ruto.

Interestingly, Uhuru has kept mum over the unfolding political rivalry between the two top politicians, whom he's keen to work with.

According to the insider, Ruto's men missed from parastatal appointment in which Raila and Uhuru's team dominated.

“A former minister and one aide of the DP spent days compiling a list of loyalists to be gazetted as board members but instead when the names came out, Raila’s picks and those from Uhuru’s side dominated. The DP is very disappointed,” the insider said.

Also, he adds, the impending retirement of IG Joseph Boinet is the bone of contention with sources saying that a top ally to Raila is set to take over in December.

While Ruto is keen to have the status quo, Raila, buoyed by Uhuru's silent support, is pushing for referendum that would lead to change of governance.
