According to sources, the flamboyant business tycoon is keen on making a political comeback after he was elbowed out of politics in 2013.

Sources say the multi-billion businessman will be banking on his political experience and exposure to bid for the Makueni gubernatorial seat in 2022.

“Mwau could bid for the Makueni gubernatorial seat in 2022 basing on his political experience and popularity,” said political analyst Peter Ngure.

Ngure said 2022 could be an opportune time for the businessman to make a political comeback.

“Mwau has the experience and resources to be a governor, I see him bidding for the Makueni gubernatorial seat in 2022,” Ngure said.

He said age is not a limit to leadership stating that Makueni electorates could likely give him a chance to lead.

Mwau unsuccessfully contested for the Makueni senatorial seat in the 2013 general election.

The former Kilome MP will meet stiff competition should he opt to contest for the seat since there are claims that Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior could also be on the gubernatorial ballot in the next polls.

Kilonzo Junior’s political influence and popularity have risen, he is seen as Governor Kibwana’s perfect successor.
