Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s Day Break Show on Tuesday, Buyu said that the loss does not mean ODM is weak.

The Kisumu MP said that the Raila Odinga-led Orange party remains strong and vibrant.

“A party does not wind-up because it has lost elections but it can take it as an experience and learning process,” she said during the interview.

Buyu asked ODM supporters to remain firm, and assured them that the party is focused and intact.

Raila on Monday said that losing the by-elections is not a big deal.

The former prime minister who spoke to journalists at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi after meeting with a section of Rift Valley leaders said elections are there to be won and lost.

The opposition leader denied claims that the Orange party is experiencing differences after the double loss.

ODM's Irshad Sumra lost the Embakasi South by-election to Julius Mawathe of Wiper.

In Ugenya, David Ochieng defeated ODM’s Chris Karan.

The Orange party now shifts focus to the Wajir West by-election set for April 25.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has cleared five candidates to contest in the by-election. The seat was left vacant after the Supreme Court nullified Ahmed Kolosh victory in the 2017 general election.
