Locals politicians in Bonchari constituency, Kisii County have been thrown off-balance following the new development in the constituency politics.
Pavel Oimeke, a new entrant to the constituency's MP race has caused panic among local politicians eyeing the seat in 2022.
Mr. Oimeke has been traversing the constituency to woe the electorates ahead of the 2022 elections.
On Sunday while speaking at Ngeri Catholic church where he donated 23 chairs, Mr. Oimeke said he is committed to improving lives of Bonchari people.
"I have good plans for our people, unlike the other politicians who have been giving empty promises. There is a project I want to start in Bonchari which will see the lives of people improved," he said.
Oimeke, who has shown interest in the MP seat come 2022, challenged local leaders to put the interest of the electorates at heart.
He warned the area MP against taking the voters for granted saying he must serve all people with equality irrespective of how they voted during the last year's polls.
A section of residents have welcomed Mr. Oimeke into the political field.
"With Oimeke as the MP in 2022, Bonchari will be on the right track," said Dickson Nyamote.
Edwin Nyakundi said; "MP aspirants should pave way for Oimeke whose leadership style has already proved to be worthy".
Emily Nyaboke reiterated that Oimeke will win the seat in 2022 no matter what.
"Local leaders are now worried over Oimeke's ambition to vie for the MP seat in 2022. No one is going to stop him from winning the seat," she stated.
