Appearing before a National Assembly committee chaired by Speaker Justin Muturi for vetting, Magoha said his greatest 'weakness' is his top-to-bottom approach to everything.

"My weakness is that I start from the goal that I want to achieve and work backwards," he said during a sitting at Parliament Buildings.

The former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi also disclosed he does not trust people, including himself.

"I do not trust anyone! I don’t trust myself too! So don’t trust me, let’s just work!" he told Members of Parliament.

He went on to state that he; "was trained never to trust anybody, that even when you delegate, you never delegate completely because if you delegate completely then you lose control."

The former Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) chairperson said he is not a political appointee but his nomination by President Uhuru Kenyatta was purely on professionalism.

"I'm not a member of any political party. I believe that I have been nominated because of what I can offer," stated Magoha.

If his nomination will be approved by Parliament, the educationist will replace Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed who was transferred to the Sports, Culture and Heritage ministry.
