Raila Odinga Junior, son to opposition leader Raila Odinga has disclosed that the former Prime Minister is as stern as a father as he is as a politician.
Speaking on NTV’s comedy show ‘Wicked Edition’ on Friday night, Junior recalled an incident where Raila punished him thoroughly for misbehaving.
On that eventful day, Raila Junior said, that with a few other students they misbehaved in school, forcing the administration to call their parents before suspending them.
When the veteran politician came, he only requested for a day with his son and what happened, Junior said, saw him make a complete u-turn.
‘’I was in high school and were caught with some stuff we weren’t supposed to have so my father was called. He took me home for one day and what happened at home I never did it again,’’ he said.
Junior was speaking in reference to the soaring debate about the legalisation of bhang in the nation, as has been proposed by Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
Raila Junior has since supported the initiative and is arguing that bhang’s advantages outweigh its disadvantages.
He based his argument on his character as a non-user, maintaining that this way, he is more justified to talk about the substance as a neutral person.
‘’I do not use drugs so I feel that I am in a better place pushing for it,’’ he said.
