A NASA rebel legislator from Gusii has launched a search mission for a person who voted for him during 2017 polls from a station where he scored only one vote of the 1200 registered people.
South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, who joined DP William Ruto's camp, on Thursday posted on social media after visiting Ibencho Primary, where he launched newly constructed classes.
"This is IBENCHO PRIMARY SCHOOL..a school with a population of about 800 pupils and a voting center with about 1200 registered voters.
"I GOT ONE(1) vote, the LEAST IN THE CONSTITUENCY..yes,ONE (looking for that single person that had faith in me..hehe)..but they equally DESERVE SERVICE..IT IS THEIR RIGHT.Almost done with the construction of 3 new classrooms as seen below," Osoro wrote.
Despite ditching ODM for KNC party, Osoro managed to win the seat. He's among the most youthful MPs from both Kisii and Nyamira Counties. He said that despite scoring one vote from the station, he will work without discrimination.
Early this week, the academic credentials of Osoro were put into question, after a tweet by Hot 96 FM was disputed by Strathmore University.
"He also holds Law Degree from Strathmore University where he graduated in 2013. He is now pursuing Diplomatic and Consular law at the University of Pretoria," the hosts wrote.
But in a quick rejoinder, Strathmore University responded 'oh really?', an indication that the credentials could not match with their system, a move that elicited sharp online debate.
But Osoro would later clarify that he studied law at Mt Kenya University where he graduated in 2013. According to him, he did CPA at Strathmore University.
"I never said that Ndugu. Infact, I did my law degree at Mount Kenya University and my CPA at Strathmore. I think it was just a mistake," he said.
