Sakaja says that it is improper and unprofessional for the governor to leak his personal phone calls no matter how bad or controversial they are.

Speaking on Citizen Radio Monday morning, the senator said that leaking phones involving top officials was embarrassing.

He said that while the governor might have reasons for leaking calls, the habit in itself is unprofessional.

“I don’t agree with Governor Sonko that leaking private phone calls is the way to fight cartels,” he said on Monday.

The Nairobi Senator asked Sonko to confront people he perceives as cartels through the corridors of justice.

Governor Sonko has in the recent days been leaking controversial private phone calls.

The Nairobi county boss says that he leaks the phone calls from cartels as a way of protecting himself.

He argues that cartels have been calling asking him to stop demolitions on riparian land.

Two weeks ago, Governor Sonko leaked a phone call with his Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waititu.

In the leaded call that went viral,  Waititu was heard begging governor Sonko to release his wife,  Susan Wangare,  who had been arrested for allegedly building in the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) without county approvals.

Governor Sonko says he has more shocking phone calls he will be sharing with the public soon.
