Speaking on Citizen TV Show Jeff Koinange Live, the governor said his late father was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.

He said the home acts as a source of inspiration since his late father's father was buried there.

Sonko said he is not ready to relocate from the county.

“My father was laid to rest in Mua. My father used to be my best friend. I really miss him a lot. I go to Mua because his grave is there. And he had a lot of hopes in me," Sonko said.

The governor said he was elected while living in the home.

Sonko maintained that he has no plans to shift operations to the CBD despite pressure from MCAs and other leaders from Nairobi County.

“When I was elected as the governor, I was staying in Mua and I will never leave Mua. I will never leave my father’s grave,” he told Jeff Koinange.

Sonko is one of the most powerful politicians from Ukambani.

He has pledged to work with other Kamba leaders to ensure one of their own is elected as the next Kenyan president in 2022 polls.
