Sakaja who was speaking in the Senate proceedings on Wednesday afternoon pointed out the essence of all stakeholders working together to aid the government in sealing security loopholes.

“Terrorism is a global disaster, nobody knows when it will fall on him: terrorism is not about religion so it is wrong for us as a country to believe that terrorists only come from one religion, that is not right,” said Sakaja.

The outspoken Nairobi senator also besieged the government to take care of those who got injured in the Dusit D2 terror attack in January.

"After the terrible terror attack on Dusit D2 hotel, Kenyans responded positively by donating blood in large numbers and giving moral support to the victims regardless of their religious affiliations, social class, tribe or any other factors.

"The government also did its best to control the situation hence it will be wrong for anyone to think that terrorism is linked to one religion or one tribe, let’s move away from that ill perception”, he added.

The sentiments were also echoed by Vihiga senator George Khaniri.
