Wainaina said media reports indicating Jubilee Party is experiencing internal wrangles over the 2022 succession debate are false.

Speaking in Thika Town on Monday, Wainaina said that the ruling Jubilee party remains intact.

He said that claims of wrangles are a creation of the media aimed at diverting the Jubilee government's development agenda.

“As far as we know there is no crisis in Jubilee as the media is reporting it,” he told journalists on Monday.

The MP said that the small issues being raised by some party members do not result in a crisis.

“Jubilee is united behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto,” he said.

Wainaina accused people outside the party of fueling speculations of rifts in the Uhuru-led outfit.

The Thika lawmaker asked Jubilee party members to remain united and support the government's development agenda.

He also asked politicians to tone down on the 2022 succession politics and work towards development.

There are claims of rifts in the Jubilee party pitting allies of Deputy President William Ruto and President Kenyatta.

A section of politicians allied to DP Ruto has been heard complaining that certain forces close to the President are plotting DP Ruto’s downfall.

The party had called for a Parliamentary Group meeting at State House on Tuesday to iron out the issues.

The meeting was however on Monday cancelled with Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, saying that there is no crisis to warrant a PG meeting.
