The North Rift trio of Nandi Hills parliamentarian Alfred Keter and his Cherangangy and Moiben counterparts Joshua Kuttuny and Silas Tiren has placed the DP behind the ongoing maize farmers' woes.

Addressing the press last week, the leaders claimed that Ruto is behind the delayed pay of maize farmers, and is as well interfering in the provision of subsidized fertilizer.

“What we know is that these problems are because of the DP and his office. We want the DP probed because we have heard that he has been calling NCPB officials instructing them on who should be paid,” Keter was quoted by the Nation.

Speaking on Radio Jambo’s ‘Mazungumzo Waziwazi’ Saturday morning, Mwaura said that the allegations might be true since they are coming from forces originating from the DP’s backyard.

He stressed on the need for a closer and keener view into the issue, terming it surprising that the allegations are originating from people who should be defending the DP in real sense.

‘’Ukiona vyaelea vimeundwa na palipo na moshi hapakosi moto. Maneno haya hayajatoka kwingine ila kwa watu wake wenyewe. Hii inamaanisha lazima kuna kasoro mahali. (This is proof enough that there is a problem somewhere),’’ he said.

Ruto is yet to personally answer to the allegations.
