Political analyst Gerald Bitok now claims that Rift Valley politicians are the most unique as compared to their counterparts from other parts of the nation.
Speaking on Wednesday evening, Bitok hailed the region as the most tolerant, hence the apparent differences between groups of politicians.
He termed this as the reason why there is emerging a new clique of politicians daring to oppose the region's kingpin and Deputy President William Ruto without fear of a backlash.
"Rift Valley is unique as compared to the other regions. Its the only place where we are seeing other groups emerging and opposing and condemning the kingpins," the analyst said.
"In most of the other regions, no one can dare air their personal opinion contrary to those of the kingpins for fear of political problems," he added.
The commentator was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show.
He based his arguments in the likes of lawmakers Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Joshua Kuttuny (Cherangany) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) who have been fearlessly condemning DP Ruto.
The trio has been very hostile to Ruto and his allies on several matters and has taken the front line as the defendants of the common citizen, especially maize farmers.
Also in the same region is Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, another critic and rival of the DP.
