Deputy President William Ruto was on Sunday interviewed by NTV's Mark Masai over a number of issues. However, DP Ruto evaded some of the crucial questions from Mark Masai something that has raised eyebrows. Here are four questions Ruto refused to answer:
His net worthDuring the interview, Mark Masai asked DP Ruto to tell the nation his net worth. However, Ruto evaded this question asking Mark if it was okay they discuss his worth too. However, Ruto said that the upcoming lifestyle audit will tell about his worth. He rubbished claims he has accumulated a lot of wealth in hotels, chopper and houses.
His tanga tanga missionMark asked DP Ruto about his countrywide visits that have been branded “tanga tanga missions.” He was asked if the missions are aimed at 2022 politics or not. However, the deputy president stated that he was just doing his duties as the next in command. He refused to state whether they were political or not.
His failed visit to Moi’s homeA few months ago, DP Ruto paid a visit to retired President Daniel Moi. However, he was blocked from seeing the retired president. When Mark asked him about his relationship with the Moi family, he said those were private matters not to be discussed on air.
Racism at the SGRThere have been reports that Kenyans working with SGR are being racially abused. However, when the DP was asked if it’s true Kenyans are being harassed, discriminated and subjected to unfair working conditions, he diverted the questions and started talking about how the SGR is beneficial to Kenyans.
