Political analyst Ambrose Weda has warned that opposition leader Raila Odinga’s current involvement with Jubilee Party will result to an unhealthy ending for the ruling party.
Raila is currently considered the party insider, courtesy of his March 9 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta and has since been entrusted with two diplomatic assignments with Uhuru’s blessings.
According to Weda who was speaking on KBC English Service on Wednesday morning, the Former Prime Minister is most likely to weaken the side ahead of the 2022 general elections, and will soon openly embark on the mission.
He observed that the long-time presidential hopeful will turn against the government and should be expected to start shaking it from within in 2021, a year to the polls.
‘’Raila is a politician and is obviously out to satisfy his political interests. He will declare war on the party in line with his political plans and will end his current kindness by turning against the Jubilee in 2021,’’ he said.
The High Court advocate did not address the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader’s possibilities of taking another shot at the presidency.
Odinga has since called for political calm, urging future hopefuls to shun politicking and concentrate on service delivery, at a time when Jubilee's possible candidate for the race and Deputy President William Ruto is already warming up.
