Even with the shocking arrest of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu over graft related charges, his boss David Maraga had reaffirmed his stand in fight against graft, the Nation had reported.
In a dramatic rare moment at the Supreme Court, Mwilu was arrested by chief detective George Kinoti following recommendation by DPP.
But her boss, David Maraga, would after all have nothing in the store for her rescue following his statement on judiciary's commitment towards fight against graft in June this year.
“I have no room for corrupt judicial officers,” he warned in June this year.
He added: “Know that you are alone if you are corrupt and expect no sympathy, mercy or protection from my office.”
His remarks came at the time the judiciary was under immense criticism from executive for allegedly perpetuating corruption.
In compliance with the law, the DCI and DPP informed Maraga and JSC of their decision to arrest the country's third DCJ.
She is being accused of receiving bribe, evading taxes, abuse of office among other criminal charges.
