In a social media update, the DPP said he had already engaged the family of the rape victim over the issue and was compiling enough report before action is taken.

"The matter was brought to the attention of DPP and it's being addressed. The @ODPP_KE is already in touch with the family of the victim," read the DPP's update.

Before the DPP's statement on the issue, the father to Najma who is the rape victim had taken to social media to air his frustrations at the hands of the Wajir OCS.

The matter was soon picked up by other social media users who shared the case under the hashtag #JusticeForNajma.

And on learning on the social media progress on his conduct, he threatened to take action on the parents and all those involved.

It is reported that whenever the parents went  to check on the OCS for the progress, he would refer them to the DCI who on their part would refer back to the OCS in circles to frustrate them in their quest for justice.

Residents had resolved to stage demos against the OCS if the matter is not resolved.
