Four Supreme Court Judges linked corruption in their line of duty have been given 14 days to respond to the allegations.

Justices Mohammed Ibrahim, Smokin Wanjala, Jackton Ojwang' and Njoki Ndung’u were put on the spot following their ruling on the Wajir gubernatorial petition.

 It is claimed that the four violated the constitution to retain the win of the incumbent governor Ahmed Abdullahi.

 A petition, seen by Citizen, implicates the justices of not adhering to their code of conduct when delivery the ruling that saw the incumbent emerge victorious despite academic qualification’s dilemma.

 “The petition was considered and the Commission directed that the same be served upon the named judges. They were given 14 days to respond to the issues raised therein,” reads part of the Statement from the Judiciary, as quoted by Citizen.

They are also facing gross misconduct accusations following what transpired at the court.

The Chief Justice David Maraga is expected to set up a tribunal to investigate the claims levelled against them. 

The process will be the same as that which was followed by the court to remove Deputy CJ Nancy Baraza.JSC also said that nine magistrates have also been accused of misconduct. 

Five of the magistrates have been found guilty by the JSC.
