The politician, who has been one of the greatest lovers of football in the nation, said that Solskjaer is the right man for the job.

He also said that the new coach will transform fortunes of the club if he is accorded the support he deserves after being handed a three-year contract by the club.

“3 hours ago, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was named the permanent manager of @ManUtd. In the history of the beautiful game, no manager has been more deserving to land such an appointment. Congratulations Ed Woodward!’ Khalwale said in a tweet.

Solskjaer was hired after embattled former Manchester United Coach Jose Mourhino was fired over poor results at the Old Trafford.

As a caretaker manager, the former United striker has enjoyed a good record with a win against Paris Saint Germain that saw the team qualify for the Champions League Quarterfinals being one of the most memorable moments for the new coach.
