The MP who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto said while Odinga and his team were campaigning against him, those in the Jubilee party stood with him.

He, however, said they fully support the handshake between the president and the opposition chief.

"I want to plead with the president that don't forget those who stood with you while others were busy campaigning to remove you from power," said Kositany.

"We support the handshake but that should not be used to break the Jubilee party. The handshake should remain as such and not extend to anything else. Kila mtu avune alichopanda," said the first time MP during the launch of Soy constituency 2019-2022 strategic plan in Eldoret town on Monday.

There has been an unease within DP Ruto's camp over the closeness of Uhuru and Raila after the handshake with fears that it might be part of the 2022 game plan.

However, Kositany said the Jubilee party already has a presidential candidate for the coming poll who is the DP.

He noted that as per the 2013 agreement, President Kenyatta was to serve his two terms and later hand over power to his deputy for another two terms.
