Trans Nzoia County Assembly Speaker Joshua Werunga is nursing injuries after he was injured in a fight that broke out in Kolongolo village in the county.

Werunga was rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he is admitted. 

"He is still in hospital and doctors say he was hit with an objectobject, " Joseph Lelgo said. 

A witness said police stormed the village to arrest a man who had been involved in a domestic quarrel but villagers clashed with the officers. 

Hell broke loose when the officers started shooting in the air.

Up to 10 people were injured in the confrontation that ensued and taken to Mt Elgon Hospital.
