Speaking during a Sunday service at Nomiya Church in Kisumu, the lawmakers said that leaders allied to the second in command are using underhand tactics to frustrate Uhuru after he agreed to work with Raila.

Led by Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang', Peter Masara (Suna West), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) and Kisumu Woman Rep Rosa Buyu among others, they said that Kenyans cannot afford to go back to the situation we experienced when Raila took the mock oath as the People’s President.

According to Kajwang' the event led to the loss of many lives in the country, adding that peace is critical in the development of this nation.

"What I saw there, I am the one who knows. Let there be peace," he said, as quoted by Standard.

The leaders allied to Raila reminded Ruto’s allies that insults would not change the current state of affairs of the nation for the benefit of the taxpayer.

On their part, Nomiya Church archbishops Michael Aol and Caleb Olali appealed to politicians to stop engaging in empty talks at the expense of development.

The clergymen said that Kenya has continued to lag in terms of development because of unnecessary politicking.
