The detectives believe that the three hitmen who killed the second year Medical Records student are hiding in either Kayole or Mathare slums in the city.

The three are suspected to be the ones who reportedly abducted Sharon in Rongo town three weeks ago, before her lifeless body was discovered in Oyugis, Homabay, two days later.

Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has since approved the search, giving the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) the nod to proceed and arrest the suspects.

"I have directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to ensure the hit men and other persons who have been adversely mentioned in this matter are pursued and arrested,” he was quoted by the Tuesday Standard.

This is after the driver of the car believed to have been used in the abduction, Jackson Gombe, is supposed to have described the trio to the detectives.

Gombe is also in custody over the same issue.

The state is set to henceforth use Gombe as a witness, in a bid to unravel more about the cruel killing of the lady who was heavily pregnant at the time of her death.

Also involved is Migori Governor Okoth Obado who, however, maintains that he was not involved.

He has, however, since admitted having been in a close relationship with the slain beauty, and was on Monday arraigned to face charges of aiding in the murder.

Four other suspects including Obado's aide Michael Oyamo and bodyguard Elvis Omondi are also helping the detectives with the ongoing investigations.
