Police officers in Kakamega county are investigating an incident where a pregnant woman was killed at her home by a group of suspected group of men.
The unknown assailants reportedly attacked the woman's home in Panyako village, Matungu Constituency where they reportedly raped her in turns.
The group then allegedly proceeded to hack the deceased to death. in the incident that happened around, 2 am on Thursday.
They are also suspected to be behind the murder of the woman's husband who was found dead a few metres away from the house.
According to the police, the man was found dead with his hands tied together. They are yet to establish if he was also killed in the house and later dumped at the scene.
His mutilated body was found by the riverside, a short distance from the house.
Confirming the deaths, area police boss linked the death to a bigger criminal chain saying the second murder could have been a revenge case, as the man was a known criminal in the area.
The two bodies were taken to the Kakamega County Hospital mortuary as investigations into their brutal murder commence.
