The ruling party has been a center of battles between the two factions allied to the President and his Deputy President regarding recent remarks by former Vice Chair and Uhuru's close ally David Murathe that Ruto should retire.

A section of Ruto's allies have since termed the anti-DP remarks as part of a plan to block his presidential bid and are now questioning the President's silence on the issue.

Speaking on Tuesday, Muluka said that Uhuru is to blame for the confidence being witnessed in his deputy's quarters, faulting him for striving to impress Ruto.

He faulted Uhuru for trying to keep all their pre-election agreements, saying that the same has rendered him weak and easy to manipulate.

"Uhuru ameonyesha udhaifu. Alipoingia ofisini angetupilia mbali makubaliano yao. Upande wa Ruto unapata nguvu za kumshurutisha maana amekubali kufanya matakwa ya Ruto.

(Uhuru has portrayed weakness by being submissive to his Deputy. Should he be stern in his leadership, then Ruto's side would not have the power to issue demands)," he said.

Muluka was speaking in an interview on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show.

He said that despite all their agreements, the DP remains Uhuru's junior who should not be making any demands to the President but be more of an assistant to him.

"Ruto ni naibu wa Uhuru na anafaa afanye kazi kulingana na msimamo huo (he should be Uhuru's deputy because that's what he is)," he said.

Ruto's allies are currently up in arms and want Uhuru to come put clear on his stand regarding Murathe's scathing claims.
