Deputy President William Ruto took time out of his busy schedule Wednesday to call the mother of renowned blogger Maureen Kinyua who died in a grisly road crash.
Calling from his office, Dr Ruto expressed his condolences to the family and hailed the blogger as a forward-looking lady who brought youths together.
The deputy president also made mention of the blogger's keen understanding of the Jubilee manifesto that President Uhuru and him sold to the masses.
"My name is William Ruto. I am calling to say sorry for what happened to your daughter Maureen. I am very sorry. I was told about the tragedy that happened. I decided to call you to tell you that Maureen was one of us in Jubilee and we worked with her in Nyeri. She did our campaigns in Nyeri and understood the Jubilee manifesto. I want you to know that we stand with you in this difficult time, " the deputy president said.
At the end of the call, the DP called on the blogger's family to put God first as they strive to come to terms with the tragedy that has befallen them and pledged his support.
