Mulyungi argues that NASA lost its relevance after the March 9, 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Thursday, the Wiper MP said NASA should be formally dissolved and parties allowed to walk separate ways.

He said there is no agenda the alliance is pushing hence affiliate parties should be allowed to run their affairs.

“I don’t know why people are debating on whether NASA is dead or alive, to me NASA does not even exist,” Mulyungi said.

The MP said NASA failed in its agenda and that leaders should focus on their individual parties.

“I know some parties have moved on and no longer care about NASA,” he said.

Mulyungi said the alliance will have no impact in 2022 even if it is not dissolved.

There has been debate on whether NASA is dead or alive.

On Monday, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said the alliance is 'dead',  adding that his Ford Kenya party is no longer a member of the outfit.

On Wednesday, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi said the alliance is still intact despite some internal issues.

Former Vice President, Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party is a member of the coalition and he  is banking on the alliance to endorse his 2022 presidential bid as per the Memorandum  of Understanding (MoU) he signed with NASA leader Raila Odinga in 2017.
