A photo of an unidentified woman is doing rounds on social media after she stripped naked outside President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Harambee House office.
The woman stripped in protest of the high cost of living after President Kenyatta signed into law the Finance Bill 2018.
The President last week signed the Finance Bill 2018 into law after the eight per cent value-added tax (VAT) on petroleum products was approved by the National Assembly.
In the photo that has since gone viral, the woman is seen standing between four police officers who are manning the main entry to Harambee House.
One of the officers seems to be talking to the woman who is seen to be wearing only her underwear.
Members of Parliament on Thursday last week, endorsed President Kenyatta’s proposal to cut the VAT on fuel on petroleum products from 16 per cent to eight per cent.
The move is aimed at raising revenue in a bid to avoid a huge funding gap in the budget.
In a Twitter post shortly after signing the Finance Bill into law, Uhuru assured Kenyans that he would ensure proper use of public funds.
“I give my commitment that I will ensure proper utilisation of public resources for a better Kenya. I will not relent on the war against corruption," tweeted Uhuru.
