Celebrated media personality Jeff Koinange has joined Kenyans and leaders in mourning the sudden demise of Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer on Friday at Nairobi Hospital.
In his condolence message to the deceased, family and friends, Koinange described Okoth as a great man, a fighter and leader.
Koinange in his condolence message revealed that he and Okoth were planning to launch a library at Mbagathi Girls before his untimely death.
"A very SAD day...Ken Okoth was a GREAT man..A FIGHTER....A great LEADER....We were just about to LAUNCH the 'Jeff Koinange LIBRARY' at Mbagathi Girls in Kibra, " Koinange tweeted.
"In HONOR of Ken, I will rename it 'KEN OKOTH LIBRARY'...Rest in Peace Bro..Till we MEET," he added.
Okoth sudden death was made public by his family during a press conference at Nairobi Hospital.
The deceased had been diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer and was receiving treatment in France before he recently jetted into the country.
Okoth died aged 41.
The Kibra MP will be remembered for his prudent use of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.
Before his demise, Okoth had also initiated a Bill to have marijuana (bhang) legalized, claiming that it has economical and medicinal value.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto have sent their condolences to Okoth's family.
Other leaders who have condoled with the family include Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, Leader of Majority in Parliament Aden Duale, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria among others.
