When a mother is breastfeeding her baby, she doesn't need to worry as much as when they bottle-feed them as they have to be extra careful.
Here are three bottle feeding mistakes every mother should avoid while breastfeeding his/her baby;
Keeping the bottles dirty
When you have a little baby in your house, cleanliness should be your second name. You need to be on top of your game especially when it comes to keeping the things your baby uses clean.
Prior to using the baby bottles to feed them, it's advisable to use a sterilizer and sterilize them in an effort to kill bacteria. Alternatively, you can soak them in hot water for approximately one hour, if you can't afford a sterilizer.
After that, let them dry and afterwards wipe them clean before you proceed to use them. Once you're done feeding the baby, wash the bottle without harsh detergents and religiously repeat the sterilizing process.
Using the wrong feeding posture
Never feed your baby while on a sleeping posture. It's not only uncomfortable as the baby will spill out all the milk but also dangerous as it increases chances of choking as well as an ear infection.
The most preferred and safe position to bottle feed your baby is the upright position; not necessarily upright, but definitely not lying down.
Not letting your baby belch after bottle feeding
Belching is a significant part of feeding your little one as it helps release the air the baby tends to swallow when feeding. Therefore if your baby swallows a lot of air, he or she becomes uncomfortable, can throw up or may seem too gassy or cranky.
If your baby doesn't belch after breastfeeding, here are ways that can make them belch.
