Maraga was speaking at the Supreme Court of Kenya on Thursday morning during the official presentation of the State of Judiciary and Administration of Justice Report (SOJAR), 2017/2018.

He pointed out that the courts which ought to dispense justice have gone sour and beyond the rule of law and constitutional obligation.

"Corruption is endemic in our country. It is there even in the Judiciary. For us to succeed and reduce it, every Kenyan of goodwill has to say no to it," admitted Maraga.

The executive asked the Chief Justice to ensure Justice and law should be the walking stick of the judicial officers while presiding over cases.

Maraga's admission on corruption in the courts comes barely three weeks after the top senior counsel of the republic had accused judges of taking bribes to influence the outcome of cases.

The country has been on the run to fight graft as the head of state President Uhuru Kenyatta prioritized it in his legacy agendas.
