Reports about the admission of the first-term governor at a hospital in London were first made public by former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday after he paid her a visit at the hospital in the United Kingdom.

The ODM Party notified Kenyans about the visit through Facebook.

Though the majority of Kenyans used the opportunity to wish Laboso a quick recovery, some questioned why the county boss whose administration is in charge of the health sector in Bomet County had to travel to the United Kingdom for treatment.

Taking to their Facebook page, the group of comedians slammed those who were criticising the governor, arguing that nobody can pass off the opportunity to seek medication in big hospitals if given the chance.

“Kenyans should stop feigning outrage against Gov Laboso for seeking treatment abroad. How many of you will reject medical covers that allow access to big hospitals if given a chance? How many would say, No, I don't need the cover because I care for the poor! The same people who pass mama mboga and go buy sukuma wiki in a supermarket owned by South Africans and call it LANES LANES. Lanes kitu gani. Quick recovery Governor Laboso," read the post by the comedians.

Information about Laboso's health status remains scanty as it is not clear when she was admitted to the hospital.
