The blogosphere has been roiling with rumours in recent weeks that the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli snatched the ravishing KTN Swahili anchor Mary Kilobi from her marital home.
A man called Jack Wanami made the devastating claims which set the internet ablaze as bloggers took up the juicy story.
Mr Wanami, a businessman and politician, accused the COTU supremo of committing the greatest crime a man can ever commit against another; stealing his wife.
Somehow the claims got to Atwoli who addressed them during a COTU event over the course of the week.
He denied ever snatching anybody's wife, saying that he did due diligence on all his wives by consulting with their parents whether they are single or not.
"Lastly, somebody recently tried to tarnish me on social media that Francis Atwoli run away with my wife. What foolish man is this. My dad told me that when you are alive don't fool around with people's wive. Even the ones that I have, I always make sure that I confirm whether they are single or not," Atwoli fired.
On her part, Kilobi told a tabloid publication that she had been in a relationship with Jack but things went south over irreconcilable differences.
