The CEC Idris Muktar before meeting the unfortunate shooting incident had received death threats.
This compelled him to record statements on two different occasions at the Kilimani Police station.
The first threat he received was over his alleged involvement in matters pertaining to the Garissa County government.
According to an insider privy to the matter, Idris Muktar had sought the services of a city law firm to initiate court prosecution against governor Ali Bunow Korane over his alleged fake academic degree.
The second case under Muktar's watch list was a series of illegal transactions and massive theft of public funds at the county executive.
Going by exclusive records in possession of this writer, Muktar was in the final stages of initiating the private prosecutions against the governor before the disaster struck.
