The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale has hit out at Garissa Governor Ali Korane for poor service delivery to residents.
In a statement on his Facebook Page, Duale noted that it is almost two years since the latter was elected into office, but there is nothing much to show.
"We cannot be the leaders who blame others for their failures. After many elections we gave you an opportunity to serve the electorates and test your leadership for future, barely two years in office, systems don’t exist, corruption is rampant, service delivery is at its lowest in the health sector, water, garbage collection, ECD, County roads, agriculture and livestock? Duale posted.
He noted that the devolution was brought about by the need to ensure development in all corners of the nation, but the same was not being witnessed in Garissa.
"Why we do blame successive regime as the people of north for marginalization when devolved units with resources and county legislature was to make the life of our people better than those regions that benefited from a centralized governance structure," Duale said.
He urged Garissa residents to remain vigilant, and hold their leaders accountable.
"To the people of my constituency and county, do not be intimidated, blackmailed or distracted from the critical issues of the day, given lunch, keep asking questions, seek accountability from your leaders, as provided in article 34 of the constitution," he said.
"For me my track record is with the public and I am ready for a rematch of the previous election. The result will be more disastrous. Prepare for the long haul Mr governor," he added.
